Services

1. Board:
Full board (breakfast, lunch package and dinner). There will be a sufficient buffet for breakfast every morning where everyone is also welcome to prepare a lunchbox to take with them.  For dinner a variety of meals will be prepared by our cook - we are happy to  accept individual wishes. Drinks can be bought from us at fair prices.

2. Skipass:
You can choose between a ski pass for 5 or 6 days. The pass is valid for 5 winter sports areas and thereby offers almost unlimited possibilities for everyone enjoying winter sports. Students and Trainees (up to age group 1986) also benefit from a discount concerning the ski passes. For details please look at: “Dates and Prices”.

3. Ski- und Snowboard Courses:
Beginners are offered skiing and snowboarding courses for free. Our instructors are certificated by the DSV (German Ski Association) and will gladly assist you during your first shaky hours on the slopes - completely free of charge!!!

4. Rental Equipment:
We cooperate with the local rental shops. This cooperation makes it possible for you to rent the latest skiing and snowboarding equipment on good terms. Previous registration required. For details please look at: “Dates and Prices”.

5. Guiding:
With the help of our guiding you will be able to get to know the most beautiful parts of the skiing area. The groups will be divided on the basis of performance (no matter if you prefer skiing or snowboarding) so that there won’t be too much standby time. The exact process of guiding will be talked over when everybody has arrived at the destination.

6. Additional Services:
We work together with "Bergschule Kleinwalsertal". If you wish to join avalanche seminars, freeride tours, ski safaris, snowshoe tours, etc. We can work out a price reduction. For more information see at "additional services".

7. Evening Program:
In the evenings the team of Simsalabim offers several entertaining activities. Everyone interested is very welcome to join us. Activities include playing poker or parlor games, tobogganing, enjoy some mulled wine, join us walking through the snow, playing table soccer, mountain lodge parties, etc.
 

Accommodation

 

The Michaelis-hut is situated directly on the slope and can accommodate 18 people. The house  is equipped with 2 - and 3-person-bed rooms (each with its own sink), two sitting rooms, a ski storage room, two toilets and a bathroom. The heating works throught two cozy brick  fireplaces. The location, right in the skiing and hiking area on snowy Heuberg  at1400 meters hight, overlooking the village of Hirschegg, preserves a wonderful  view over the mountains. The  slope of the Schöntallift  lies just outside the front door.

Location

Crossing the “Walser-Schanze”,which is the German-Austrian border, opens up on one of the most beautiful high mountain valleys of the Alps: At the only through Germany reachable Austrian Kleinwalsertal with its resorts Riezlern, Hirschegg, Mittelberg and Baad. Located at a height between 1.086 m - 1.250 m it promises holiday treats for every taste (620km away from Germany, Belgium and Holland).

As the third largest tourist destination in Austria, the Kleinwalsertal attracts every year thousands of tourists - both summer and winter. The stunning mountain scenery and the natural snow (high security for natural snow from December till April) a large role.

The proverbial Walser hospitality helps the guest to create a completely pleasant atmosphere.

Ski Resort

The ski pass included in the price is valid for the entire valley:

Kanzelwand, Fellhorn,  Ifen, Walmendingerhorn, Söllereck and Nebelhorn offer more than 120km (75miles) of slopes for beginners as well as for experts. There are 20km (12.4 miles) of considerable difficult slopes as well as numerous deep powder snow ski-runs for experts.

The location of those skiing and snowboarding areas, between 815m and 2224m, promise excellent snow conditions (especially in the higher regions) between December and the beginning of May.

Transportation

 

1. Arrival (Self Drive):
Though everyone is expected to make their own travel arrangements the team of SimSalaBim will gladly help you to form car pools. Due to organizational reason we ask you to be there between 3pm and 6pm. Should that not be possible for you, please inform us in advance so that we know for our planning (dinner, etc.).

2. Arrival / Departure (Organized):
If you wish so, we can offer you an organized bus drive. An offer only makes sense from 20 persons up.

3. Departure:
The time of departure is provided free for everyone - only the rooms must be vacated by 10.00 clock.

Courses and Rental

Free ski and snowboard courses for beginners! Usually beginners are ones who have to suffer the most: They have to borrow or buy equipment and clothes and pay the most for the journey, because the courses cost extra again.

Not with us: DSV-certified ski and snowboard instructors will assist you in the first wobbly hours on the runway - completely free of charge. The ski and snowboard course takes place every morning, so you can solidify what has been learned in the afternoon on your own.

Conveniently, loan instead of paying big money for badly adjusted material. With us you will get your rental equipment on site. If it does not fit, it will be easily replaced. Additional Services

1. Freeride Tours:
Absolute powder, untraveled slopes coupled with fascinating winter wonderland for skiers and snowboarders. With the instructions and practical tips from the guide will improve their own riding and the fun factor increases immeasurably. Short climbs and gondola rides allow freeride fun and freedom beyond crowded slopes - for sure!

Ski Safaris are the most demanding skiing off the slopes for pure adventure. In small groups of like-minded people. 3. Avalanche Seminar (2 Days):
Those who like to explore the back country of skiing areas do well to improve, their knowledge of avalanches, Review of slopes, avalanche search with avalanche transceiver and avalanche probe, first aid and Emergency Management. In addition to a practical seminar in the nature come sporting powder runs on remote deep powder snow, the region and the fun is not too short.

Course Content: 

• Getting to know the technical equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe)
• Proper handling of the transceiver equipment (search strategy)
• Riskmanagement with the method Snowcard 3x3 by Werner Munter
• Practical Science of snow - snow profile with slip block
